Meta Says: Facebook, Instagram, and Threads Face Massive Outage, Hackers Disagree

Meta owns Facebook, Instagram, and Threads; all three are currently having technical issues. Numerous customers throughout the world have been impacted by the outage, which looks to have begun at approximately 8:30 PM IST. Some users have reported being unable to log in when using Meta Quest headsets due to this issue. Users of Facebook are losing their ability to log back into their accounts after being logged out. Users can't refresh their feeds on Instagram.

On its status page, Meta has acknowledged the problem and stated that its engineering teams are investigating the Facebook login issue. Facebook cited remarks made by Andy Stone, the head of Meta Communications, regarding Threads' primary rival, X. He indicated that the organization is aware of the access problems and is attempting to resolve them. "We're aware that people are experiencing difficulty accessing our services," Stone stated. We are currently addressing this.

A similar outage happened in 2021 when WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook went down for several hours due to a setup fault. Elon Musk, meanwhile, made fun of Meta by saying on X, "If you're reading this post, it's because our servers are working." Since the introduction of Threads, which rose to prominence following Musk's acquisition of Twitter, Musk has been critical of Meta.

When accessed from a mobile device, Threads appears to be fully offline at the moment and displays an error message. WhatsApp is still operating regularly, though. Reports for all three platforms have rapidly increased on Downdetector, and international network monitors NetBlocks have seen that the problem is impacting several nations.
